Join us as we experience this once in a lifetime event!

Join us Monday, August 21st as we Experience the Eclipse of 2017! Spend an entire day at Science City’s Solar Eclipse Watch Party with interactive, hands-on themed programming in Science City, the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium and our newest space, Haverty Yard. Activities Include:

  • Entry into Science City includes free admission to the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium all day
  • New, Eclipse Themed Planetarium Shows
  • Eclipse(d) Themed Science on a Sphere Shows
  • Maker Studio Solar Eclipse Programming
  • Solar Telescope and projection viewings from the new Haverty Family Yards
  • Free Solar Glasses Giveaways On a First-Come First-Served Basis
  • Special Guest, Chief Meteorologist Mike Thompson from Fox 4

IMPORTANT:  Union Station and Science City are NOT in the path of totality.  There will NOT be a safe time to view the sun without eclipse glasses while at Union Station.  Please ONLY view the sun WITH eclipse glasses.

Planetarium Schedule

Solar Eclipse Presentation every half hour between 10AM - 12PM, 1:30 - 4PM.
The Planetarium will be closed from 12:30PM to 1:30PM to Experience the Eclipse.
